Excited to share that my article is now published in Perspectives of New Music.

After several years of research and development, “Toward a Common Visual Vocabulary for Animated Notation in Acoustic, Electronic, and Electroacoustic Music” is now available.

This work addresses a critical challenge in contemporary music: the fragmentation of animated notation systems. I propose a prototype modular visual vocabulary — a flexible toolkit of shared symbols and conventions — that can support composers, performers, educators, and software developers across acoustic, electronic, and electroacoustic contexts.

The article explores how a common visual framework, without being prescriptive, can reduce cognitive load for performers, enable better pedagogical continuity, and support cross-platform interoperability, while preserving the creative diversity that makes experimental notation vital.

I’d appreciate your thoughts and feedback, especially if you work in notation, composition, or music technology.
